چکیده

QoS has been proposed in storage subsystem man agement towards e ective disk space utilization and request servicing We present a QoS based stor age model for e ective user negotiation in terms of scheduling and the number of storage devices A sim ulation model is developed based on an available disk simulator which is experimented under arti cial re quest workload towards better system s responsive ness performance and functionality Certain remarks and conclusions are raised with respect to the simu lated scheduling algorithms and the capacity available to the client s environment

Interworking Qos Management Subsystem

The third-generation partnership project 3GPP and 3GPP2 have standardized the IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) to provide ubiquitous and access network-independent IP-based services for next-generation networks via merging cellular networks and the Internet. The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) seems to be the technology that will prevail in Next Generation Networks (NGNs). The users wish to communic...

QoS-Based web service composition based on genetic algorithm

Quality of service (QoS) is an important issue in the design and management of web service composition. QoS in web services consists of various non-functional factors, such as execution cost, execution time, availability, successful execution rate, and security. In recent years, the number of available web services has proliferated, and then offered the same services increasingly. The same web ...

Implementation of a Fault-Tolerant Real-Time Network-Attached Storage Device

Phoenix is a fault-tolerant real-time network-attached storage device (NASD). Like other NASD architectures, Phoenix provides an object-based interface to data stored on network-attached disks. In addition, it features many functionalities not available in other NASDs. Phoenix supports both best-effort reads/writes and real-time disk read accesses required to support real-time multimedia applic...

Fuzzy Logic for QoS Control in IMS network

The nature of the services provided by IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) networks require a maximum quality, this will appear in service provisioning for differentiate between the added value of IMS and other classical case as well as Internet. Toward, the QoS management mechanisms focus primarily on resource reservation in service provisioning, all this specification are introduced by 3GPP standar...

Trail: A Fast Synchronous Write Disk Subsystem Using Track-Based Logging

Synchronous disk write presents a serious performance problem for those applications that require strong data integrity guarantee. This paper describes the design and implementation of Trail, a disk subsystem that features a track-based logging technique to minimize the performance impact of synchronous disk write operations. We have demonstrated in this research that Trailcan reduce the latenc...
